Ingredients
11 items- 15 dried chipotle peppers
- 3 ancho peppers, dried
- 6 cloves garlic
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- 1Remove stems from dried peppers. Toast in dry pan until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Soak in hot water for 30 minutes until soft. Blend rehydrated peppers with 1 cup soaking water and all other ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes. Blend again until very smooth. Strain for ultra-smooth texture. Bottle and refrigerate for up to 2 months.
